For a knocked-out tooth, the team may suggest you keep the loose tooth in the socket, careful not to disturb the root or between your teeth and gums, so it stays moist. If that’s not possible, they may suggest storing your tooth in a covered container with milk or a tooth-preservation solution you can find at your pharmacy.

With proper care, your provider can often place your knocked-out tooth back into its normal position. This is also true for a chipped tooth.

Cracked tooth

You should rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to minimize swelling for a cracked tooth. 

Toothache

For a toothache, the team may recommend rinsing your mouth with warm water and flossing your teeth to remove any food debris that may irritate the tooth.
